THE TRUFRAME GREYHOUND STUD BOOK TROPHY
The Greyhound Stud Book is delighted to announce that its GREYHOUND STUD BOOK TROPHY, one of the most prestigious races in the British Bred greyhound calendar, is to be sponsored by Leicestershire company TRUFRAME LTD and will be known as THE TRUFRAME GREYHOUND STUD BOOK TROPHY.
Keeper of the Stud Book Liz Mort said:
‘We are absolutely delighted that Truframe is on board with us to encourage and reward good British Breeding. Truframe fits well with us as it is a true British success story, a company that has grown from a small manufacturing unit to a large modern production facility supplying the building industry with windows and doors incorporating the most modern and environmentally sound properties.
‘It is a known fact that breeding numbers have declined in recent years and Truframe’s involvement has helped us continue to offer this substantial prize which will go to the connections of the best dog on the night!’
Truframe’s Managing Director, David Firmager, himself one of the country’s most successful breeders and trainers of British Bred greyhounds and supporters of British Breeding, said of the company’s involvement: ‘Truframe is very glad to have the opportunity of supporting the Stud Book Trophy. British breeders do not receive anything like enough recognition for the hard work and dedication, not to mention cost, that goes into breeding good dogs. Good British dogs are second to none – just look at how many Irish breeders are using Westmead Hawk – and the pleasure you get from seeing a dog run that you have bred, rather than just bought, is immense! I am really looking forward to The Truframe Greyhound Stud Book Trophy Final night!’
The Truframe Greyhound Stud Book Trophy, run at Monmore Green, will start on 31 May with the Final on 7 June. The winner takes home £2,500 and a Trophy, with all other finalists receiving £100. Winners of the Trophy in recent years have included Westmead Hawk (twice), Westmead Lord, Eye Eye Pickle and Mark My Words.
