British Bred Greyhound of the Month – December 2010
British bred Greyhound of December has to be JIMMY LOLLIE, whose emphatic win in the £2000 Stadium Bookmalers National Sprint Final on 20 December at Nottingham took him to 37 Open Race wins in 2010. His failure to take this to 38 (and thereby set a new record of Open Race wins in one year) on 30 December at Hove (he was 2nd) no way detracted from his talent. Trained by Seamus Cahill, this Aug ’07 World Class – Droopys Kara was of course awarded Sprinter of the Year 2009 – and is odds-on to retain that title at the GBGB Annual Awards at the end of this month. His dam Droopys Kara was the worthy winner of the Dam of Best British Bred Litter 2009 Award.
